I hate I couldn't make it, but I'll say one thing -- those folks sure let us know how much they appreciate us, and I mean every single time we show up!

Terry Dillard

Re: NWS Fish Fry

I hate that I could not make it. I was in the last day of a CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) course that had to take precedence. Thanks to the NWS for putting this on! I volunteer for a lot of different groups and the NWS is consistently the best about supporting and thanking operators for our service. Every time I show up every employee makes me feel welcome, and they all thank me when I leave... not, I believe, because it is a policy, but because they truly appreciate and benefit from what we do. Being made to feel valuable and valued is in many ways better than being paid!

Re: ALERT Activation 5/6/2009 #alwx :

Hub Harvey, N4HUB, also responded.
Thanks Hub!

Re: ALERT Activation 5/6/2009 #alwx :

Ed Manley, W4AGA, responding until 2pm CST.
Thanks Ed!

Re: ALERT Activation 5/3/2009 #alwx :

Howard KC4QJA till 3, Bruce until 5 along with Steven KB4FKN then Mark WD4NYL & Teresa KQ4JC at 5 pm.

Re: ALERT Activation 4/19/2009 #alwx :

steven moss KB4FKN until 10pm

Re: ALERT Activation 4/10/2009

Ed Manly W4AGA from 1pm - 5:30pm. One bow echo coming out of the Meridian area was about the strongest I've seen. It quickly fell apart after crossing the state line. Had numerous damage reports out of Lamar County from non-thunderstorm winds. Over all though, we dodged a BIG bullet.

Re: ALERT Activation 3/28/2009

ALERT is activated at NWS - 3AM till 8AM Mark & Teresa Wells, 8AM till Noon Steven & Howard Moss, 12 Noon till ???
